I think that its weightlessness makes up for the lack of power.
A manual version could be fun.

At some point in the 90's, a younger me had a job that required driving one of those beauties on a regular basis. It was yellow with neon pink and black graphics down each side. The shop owner that bought it said that there was no way we could drive it like assholes without getting caught because it was so recognizable. It ended up on its side at one point, but due to a combination of soft grass, dirt, luck and not having a passenger side rear view mirror, the damage was so slight as to never be questioned. Good times.
